Curated in 2007 by Damian Smith, FROM THE HEART - INDIGENOUS ARTISTS ENVISIONING THE SACRED included works by four Indigenous artists, Ellen Jose, Karen Casey, Gayle Maddigan and Robyne Latham. Hailing from locations including Tasmania, Torres Strait, Western Australia and Victoria, the artists presented works including painting, photography, ceramics and works on paper, through which notions of the sacred, in relation to both land and community were articulated.
